Have you ever noticed the work of artists, or craftsmen, like carpenters for example?
It looks so difficult to do, and yet they make it look so easy. This is not only because they are talented, trained and experienced, but because they always have the correct tools and instruments to hand. Having the right tool for the job makes life so much easier. It’s not always easy to find the right tool, believe me, I know—as I’m sure many of you do—that finding that perfect piece of equipment can be a long, frustrating and arduous process. Like finding the right eyelash tweezers, for example! Jeez! I have literally searched the globe and spent many precious hours searching for the perfect eyelash tweezers. And after much trial and error, I am so happy to say that eventually I finally found my perfect eyelash tweezers a couple of years ago. And now these eyelash tweezers feel like a part of my hand, a sixth finger if you like! Making my work life so much easier and enhancing my skills.
To save you the long, laborious, and expensive search for your perfect eyelash tweezers, I will share with you the details of the ones that I use, and I honestly can’t recommend them highly enough.
Isolation Tweezers
My two favourites for isolation tweezers are straight eyelash tweezers, and the 30° angle eyelash tweezers. I imagine you may be asking, why two? Well, a lot of lash artists dismiss the good old straight eyelash tweezers, and suggest that angled eyelash tweezers are better for the job. Possibly, but in my considered opinion, there is no better tool than the straight eyelash tweezers for separating inner and outer corners. It also works very well, on most clients, throughout the eye. A professional tip of mine here would be to hold them at a slight angle, rather than straight to the natural lash line.
Some clients have very short natural lashes, or just a little awkward and tricky—here you will find that angled isolation tweezers such as 30° ones are just perfect for that.
Curved Lash Tweezers
For classic eyelash application, my ‘go to’ tool is the ‘PRO Curved’ eyelash tweezers. The precision is just amazing—this tweezer picks up even the thinnest of lashes without bending or twisting them. All my recent classic masterpieces were done using this ‘love’ of mine.
I think it is quite safe to state that volume tweezers are the hardest to find, and they can either make you or break you! The importance of a strong, even grip is undeniable. It’s a tool that should help you to pick volume fans without a single one slipping out—if you use your fan-making and picking techniques correctly.
Volume Tweezers
My favourite of favourites is our ‘Fine Axe’ volume tweezers, which is an L-type tweezer. Not only does it help me create beautiful fans, but also, because of its flat base, it helps to follow an even direction when applying fans to natural lashes.
Once you find the eyelash tweezers you feel comfortable with, and you know they are working with you rather than against you, stick to them, because they are your sixth or seventh finger.
Arune ❤️
